Why does it matter?

Mom guilt, time constraints, stress and overwhelm, and fatigue are just some of the most common reasons we lapse in taking care of ourselves postpartum. Our culture idolizes this "bounce back" idea, yet overtime the "village" structure people talk about is withering away. Mix this with all things you're telling yourself you "should be" doing and postpartum can become far from the experience you thought it would be.

This is a time of profound transformation—physically, emotionally, and mentally. Embracing a ritual that aligns with your unique needs creates a foundation for healing, balance, and growth. Whether it’s movement, reflection, or grounding self-care, these small but intentional acts nurture your well-being and help you show up fully for yourself and your baby.

Prioritizing yourself isn’t just beneficial—it’s essential. By weaving these rituals into your daily life, you’re honoring your recovery, fostering resilience, and setting the stage for a joyful, empowered motherhood journey.

Explore Postpartum Occupational Therapy

Hey there, I'm Savannah!

I am an Occupational Therapist and Certified Postpartum Doula with additional training in Perinatal Mental Health. I help postpartum moms navigate their physical and emotional recovery so they can find peace and flow in the chaos of early motherhood.

As someone who has suffered with endometriosis and PCOS since I was a teen, I was very well aquainted with the gaps in women's healthcare. However, after I had my own daughters I realized how great the disparity actually is. I had two very different birth and postpartum experiences and explored A LOT of information and resources during my first year after birth. (Endless googling? Yeah, that was me.)

After my personal trials and tribulations of early motherhood, I knew I wanted to be the one that could look at a woman and see the whole picture. I want to hold each new mom's hand and through evidence-based education and attainable action steps, let them feel truly confident in their postpartum wellness. In 2024, I started The Perinatal OT with a goal to do just that. I'm so glad you're along for the ride!
